Hey guys and dolls, how’s it going?
December has arrived with a roaring thunder, and I’m not sure that
I’m going to make it to Christmas!!
This week was jam-packed, and the next two weeks will be even more!!
It’s time for individual report card testing in reading and math,
Polar Express Week and Christmas Around the World is coming up,
AND we have our first ever field trip and our Christmas party!!!
Whew! I get nervous just talking about it!
This meme pretty much sums up how I feel right now!
So, speaking of Buddy the Elf, our Elf debuted this week!!
I decided to keep his name from last year, so Jingles it is!
I’d put our class tree up after school on the last day before
Thanksgiving Break, so that was good to go.
Monday morning, I wrapped Jingles up, and I used this great letter
and tag from Cara Carroll’s freebie pack!
Once we opened our package, we completed this page about Jingles,
which is also included.
The kiddos had fun looking for Jingles this week!
This week we also kicked off Gingerbread Week, which is one of my faves.
Actually most of our winter units are my faves!
We read some of my favorite versions of the tale,
and I just realized that I forgot all about The Gingerbread Baby! Aww man!
We charted the characters, the song and the ending of each story.
I decided to make a gingerbread house out of it,
and I’m really excited about how it turned out!!
We also ate the Little Debbie gingerbread men,
and graphed which part we ate first!
Wrote down and analyzed the data…
…..we also described gingerbread, which was great, because
we needed to review adjectives.
We also did a little science experiment, and I would show
it to you, but the after picture is quite nasty looking!

in her classroom, which is where these ideas came from!
Oh, and don’t forget to grab everything while you’re there!
For our fun Friday activity, and to get some Christmasy things going
outside of our room, we made these awesome Christmas trees!!
