Hey guys and dolls, how’s it going?
Today, I’m here to talk with you about…….
…yup, small box activities!
So, those who know me, know how much I
absolutely love centers!
I love to create activities for my students!
So, I have some babies who are struggling academically as the year goes on.
While some of my students are soaring, and moving on to other activities,
such as reading and building CVC words…….
……and place value, addition and subtraction, decomposing numbers…
……..I still have those babies who are struggling.
They have been through all of the centers that they
are able to complete, so I decided to create some new centers,
that still focus on those critical skills that they need.
They still need practice with letter sounds,
but something that’s also fun and engaging.
They also need practice with identifying numbers,
one-to-one correspondence, and subitizing.
So, I created these small box activities, that can really be used
at any point of the school year. It is an easy to prep, purposeful activity,
that is perfect for little hands. It can also be used for morning work,
literacy centers, or early finisher work, etc.
Any type of manipulative can be used for this center.
My fave are those erasers from the Target dollar spot!
However, use what you have, whether it be erasers,
counters, coins, teddy bears, etc.
I hope to create more of these, to cover a range of skills.
