About

Meet Angela

Hey there! I’m Angela Griffith, the educator, author, and lifelong learner behind The Daily Alphabet. I’m here to help you create positive learning experiences in your classroom by bringing you research-based strategies and resources.

I know what it’s like to be overwhelmed with all of the latest teaching fads when all you need are resources and activities that keep your students engaged in learning. I’m passionate about literacy, and I love the entire ELA block, from whole and small group to centers and writing! I enjoy helping teachers to fall in love with their ELA block as well!

You’re in the right place if:

  • You’re looking for strategies that rely on best practices and research
  • You’re looking for resources that are developmentally appropriate
  • You’re looking for information that you can easily implement today

The Daily Alphabet

The Daily Alphabet began when I moved to kindergarten after teaching first grade for a few years. I needed all of the information on teaching a new grade that I could get, and I learned so much in the process that I wanted to discuss that knowledge with other educators! So I started to share information through blogging and resources through my shop on TeachersPayTeachers. Throughout this journey, I have learned that not only do I enjoy teaching littles all day, but I love to help educators master their literacy whole and small groups!

Professional Development

I love discussing all things education with teachers, and over the years I have led professional development in my district and school on technology and literacy. I have a passion for early literacy, and this past summer I was fortunate to be able to present on that very topic!

More About Angela

I’m Angela, and I have a heart for the primary grades. I have taught for the past 13 years, in kindergarten and 1st-grade. During that time I earned a Master’s and Ed.S in Elementary Education. I taught 1st grade for 3 years, then I moved to kindergarten for 6 years. For the last 4 years, I’ve been a kindergarten/1st-grade looping teacher, which I absolutely love!

I’m just a southern girl from Alabama, living out my dreams. I love to go to brunch with friends and travel the world! Most days you can find me with a book in my hand (or on my tablet), eating hot tamales (the candy), and taking in a gentle breeze (if it’s not 98 degrees outside).
