Hey guys and dolls, how’s it going?
As I write this post, my throat is kind of sore,
and it’s spreading to my ears, and I’m praying that
I don’t have the flu AND/OR strep throat.
Pray with me saints, pray with me.
My kiddos love anything that comes in these small boxes.
They know that they are going to enjoy anything that it contains.
Whether it be exploration boxes, or previous small box activities
that I have talked about, you name it, they LOVE it!
So, small box activities for medial sounds was born!
This is such an important part of phonemic awareness,
and it is something that some of my babies still struggle with.
It’s so easy for them to get it confused with initial sounds,
so I wanted something that was fun, yet engaging at the same time.
Oh, and did I mention that it’s easy to prep?
That is a must for any teacher, because I know that you are
just as busy as I am, and who wants to spend 40 minutes
prepping an activity? I know I don’t!
This purposeful activity is perfect for little hands,
and it can be used for morning work, a literacy center,
or early finisher work, etc.
Students can cover the sound that’s on the card,
or they can spin and cover sounds.
There is also a black and white version for each activity.
When I’m low on color ink, I love to use
that vibrant paper from Astrobrights.
Oh, and did I mention there’s also spin & color?
